Sheffield United vs. Birmingham.

How many of you think that Birmingham is going to show up for this game after being surprsingly relegated last season? They're facing a struggling Sheffield team from the Premiership and they may want to make a statement that they belong in the top division. Birmingham +1/2 -140 looks juicy but I'd like some opinions on this. I haven't really followed the Blues in the Championship but it seems like they are a bit inconsistent just like the rest of that division.

Sheffield United boss Neil Warnock will make wholesale changes for Birmingham's visit to Bramall Lane.
Paul Ifill, Ade Akinbiyi, Derek Geary, David Unsworth and Nicky Law are likely to get their chance along with former Blues goalkeeper Ian Bennett.

I am going with the following picks for Tuesday's Carling Cup action...

ASTON VILLA (-0.75) -110 over Leicester City
Villa will be travelling to Leicester with a full strength squad. Winning this trophy is their best chance to make it into Europe next season so Villa are taking this competition seriously. Leicester City have several injury problems and should be no match for Villa.

WEST HAM UNITED (-0.75) -115 over Chesterfield
West Ham need a win - ANY WIN! They will field a strong team today and I think they will give Chesterfirld a good "Hammering"

ARSENAL (-0.5) -105 over West Brom
Arsenal will make several changes to their squad for this match but even the Gunners B Team should be too much for West Brom.

WATFORD (-0.75) -105 over Hull City
Watford will also field a fairly strong team with the exception of Marlon King who is trying to shake off a minor knee injury. Hull City will be missing a few regulars who are either Cup-tied, injured or suspended.

That West Ham game looks too easy. I can't believe the line isn't at least -1.25.
